DO YOU KNOW MACASSAR WOOD? ELEGANT, DURABLE, EXTRAORDINARY

Do you remember the massive wooden wall in the Tugendhat Villa in Brno? It is from Macassar, also known as ebony wood.

Macassar is a type of ebony from the Diospyros Celebica tree, widespread in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. It is black wood with brown to honey veining. It is elegant, durable and well-polishing. Did you know that ebony has a very high density of about 1000 kg / m2 and therefore dives in water? Don't use it for shipbuilding, but for furniture, that will last for generations. We use it not only for furniture, but also for wall cladding. We dare say, that Macassar wood is for the demanding. When it's good for Villa Tugendhat, it's good for everyone.
